Description
The 1784-PM02AE Board is an Allen-Bradley 2-axis PCI Board. The 1784-PM02AE Board connects to a termination panel through the Premade 34-pair, 28 AWG SCI shielded cable. The 1784-PM02AE Board requires a minimum of 50 MB of free hard disk space. The PC that hosts it should have a RAM capacity of 128 MB at the minimum. Verify that there is an open 32-bit local PCI Bus Slot and that the computer is DMA capable, and allow for bus metering on the PCI Bus. Note that the 1784-PM02AE Board is intended to be used in a heavy industrial environment and not in a domestic or office environment. It has the ability to support 2 axes that send cyclic position commands.
The 1784-PM02AE Board meets the ASA system specifications and it conforms to the common presentation format of the communication cards. Note that only up to 4 cards should be installed on a single computer. A termination panel should be used when connecting the 1784-PM02AE Board to a computer. This facilitates the wiring of drives and encoders for use with the card. The 1784-PM02AE Board is designed to meet the Council Directive 89/336/EEC Electromagnetic Compatibility standard. In addition, the 1784-PM02AE Board bears the CE marking, showing that it is approved for installation within the European Union and the EEA regions. The unit is also tested to met the Council Directive 73/23/EEC for low voltage. The card is highly sensitive to electrostatic discharge. Therefore, the technicians should be aware that electrostatic discharge may be present in the environment, and while handling the unit, they should ensure that ESD protection is taken care of appropriately.
